Games for Good: Designing Games with a Social Impact, July 25-26-27-28, 2019,

Sponsored by U.S. Consulate General, Public Affairs Section in Hyderabad.

Digital gaming is immensely popular around the world. In 2016, the value of the Indian gaming industry amounted to 30.8 billion Indian rupees. It is expected that the industry will be worth 71 billion Indian rupees in 2021. In India, local government is taking continual leaps to make Hyderabad the country's gaming capital and a lucrative destination for game-design aspirants.

This program seeks to tap into the popularity of the gaming industry in Hyderabad by offering the many creators in this region an opportunity to learn how to use their talents to address social issues. The emotional immersion and total concentration that comes with gaming represents a uniquely powerful environment for introducing new ideas and concepts to audiences and can be a powerful tool for raising awareness on serious issues.

Participants in this program will have the opportunity to interact with an American expert on gaming narrative, local experts on social issues, and leaders from within the gaming and technology industries in India. We encourage professionals and even students with experience to apply to be a part of this project.

We thank all applicants for their interest. Registrations have now closed.
